Valentines day is my favourite novelty holiday and just around the corner so I thought I would take a look at what some brands have to offer in terms of gifts for her this year and show you my pick of the bunch!

Now I know there is more to loving someone than a fancy gift and it shouldn’t be about money and how much you spend on someone; that goes without saying, but lets face it who doesn’t like to receive a present, especially when its red/pink and most likely heart shaped! I am an advertisers dream, I fall for all the commercialism of the day 😉

I will admit that sometimes the simplest of gifts mean the most and that doesn’t necessarily have to cost a lot. Sometimes simply spending quality time with the one you love is more than enough. But if you are stuck for a gift idea then keep on reading.

I thought I would start with a high end brand first and one that I love! I visited the London Kate Spade store at the weekend and fell in love with all their cutesy valentines bits. Here is my fav:

This bag is stunning and although it screams valentines day it could of course be used all year round..it’s a perfect date night bag! Now this bag isn’t cheap by any means but if you have the budget it’s bound to please that special lady in your life.

IDIOM BANGLES UNLOCK MY HEART – HINGED

Now, Swarovski isn’t a brand I usually pay much attention to and I don’t currently own anything from this brand but they have upped their marketting campaign this valentines and caught my eye!

Again this is heavy on the valentines theme as its a red heart but this necklace comes in a range of colours and designs including a black moon pendant set. Valentines day doesn’t have to be restricted for your other half, ‘galentines day’ is a great idea for not only single ladies buying for a friend but for any special lady in your life, even your mum! The great thing about this gift is that it comes as a set so if you are a woman buying for another woman then you can keep one and give the other as a gift or if you are feeling very generous then give her them both. you could even give her one for valentines day and the other for a birthday or anniversary if you are feeling thrifty!

Of course pandora have hundreds of charms to choose from and it doesn’t have to be one from their valentines collection that you pick but personally I don’t think you can go wrong with this one. Just make sure she has a pandora bracelet/bangle or necklace first or this might not be so appropriate. If not then why not pick her one of these up too!

Thinking outside the box this time how about a netflix voucher. This is actually what I bought my boyfriend last year and he loved it! I know a voucher can sometimes feel a little bit impersonal but think of all the dates you can have watching netflix (& chill is optional!)

Moving on to perfume, Marc Jacobs have a new release just in time for valentines ‘Daisy Kiss’. This fragrance is the latest addition to the oh so popular daisy scent collection and the bottle is just to die for! There are three versions to choose from: Daisy Kiss, Daisy Eau So Fresh Kiss and Daisy Dream Kiss. If you’re wondering the scent is a fruity floral fragrance with notes of black currant, grapefruit, pineapple, freesia, jasmine, rhubarb, ambroxan, musk, and cedar.

If she has a sweet tooth then you can’t go wrong with chocolates. If she has a favourite chocolate then go for that but I think this personallised heart plaque from Thorntons is hard to beat!

You could get anything written on this, the more romantic the better but you can’t go wrong with a simple ‘I Love You’.
