Benito Belfast- Setting the (brow) bar high!

Hi again,

Last Thursday 2nd March I was invited down to the press launch of the new Benito brow bar situated in the accessories section of Topshop in Victoria Square.

I have to say when I received the invite for this event I was VERY excited! Other than getting my brows waxed maybe twice in my whole life I do very little to my brows! I pluck them when I see a stray hair but other than that they are pretty low maintenance in comparison to other people I know. I luckily never went through that overplucking stage or worse still the eyebrow SHAVING period of life that some girls seem to go through (thank god!). So I have been lucky enough and blessed with decent brows. They don’t grow out of control, have always been easily maintened in a nice shape and generally I don’t have to do anything else.

That said, more recently with brows being more and more on trend I have been tempted to experiment a bit more. I have started to fill in any little areas I feel look more sparce than others and I set them most days with my holy grail product, maybelline brow drama in dark blonde. I got this in a glossy box once and have been hooked ever since. I don’t really use it for the colour pay off, although it does add a little something, moreso I use it for the staying power. I tend to find the hairs on one of my brows drops out of shape during the day and it’s really annoying so this really helps keep them neat.

With my interest and time spent on my brows increasing of late; when Benito offered me a complimentary brow treatment in their new branch I jumped at the chance.

The girls in Benito Belfast are great. So lovely and welcoming and boy do they have some serious skills! The treatment on offer was eyebrow threading and a tint was optional both of which were something new to me. I have seen threading being done but never had it carried out on myself and to be honest I was a bit worried it might hurt. I can honestly say I didn’t find it sore in the slightest. Now I’m sure this may differ depending on your pain threshold (although mine wouldn’t be the best) and maybe the thickness of your brows but to be honest I found the process quite therapeutic and wouldn’t hesitate to get it done again. I had called in prior to get a patch test for the brow tint, this must be carried out at least 24hours beforehand. I figured I may aswell go the whole hog and try it all so I know for future reference and this part is super quick. They literally apply the tint, wait 3 minutes and wipe it off. The girls in Benito were able to advise me on the best way to shape my brows going forward and shaped my brows to allow for reagrowth in the areas that might need it. It’s always good to have a professional do these things, this is something I have now learnt!

The great thing about the location of the Benito store is how handy it is. It’s convenient due to being situated inside topshop, Victoria Square and with the service being so quick you can literally just dander in whilst shopping, no appointment needed. It’s not slap bang in middle of the store either so you don’t have everyone staring at you which is another thing I liked.

The girls in Benito offer more than just brow treatments though, they also do lashes and there are some great package deals that you can sign up to that will save you some money down the line if you are a regular customer. The girls gave me a complimentary hand and face massage after my threading which homestly relaxed me so much I could have fallen asleep! It’s worth going for that alone!

Lastly, I’d like to thank Benito for their kind invite, treatment and goody bag. We were even treated to some VERY yummy cupcakes and prosecco while we waited.

Why not call in and speak to the girls in Benito the next time you are in town and get some advice. Can’t wait for my next visit! #ThatBenitoFeeling
